Detoxification

Detoxification (often shortened to detox and sometimes called body cleansing) is a type of alternative-medicine treatment which aims to rid the body of unspecified "toxins" – substances that proponents claim have accumulated in the body and have undesirable short-term or long-term effects on individual health. Activities commonly associated with detoxification include dieting, fasting,  cleanse retreat ,  consuming exclusively or avoiding specific foods (such as fats, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, juices, herbs, or water), colon cleansing, chelation therapy, and the removal of dental fillings containing amalgam. Fasting

Fasting is the willful refrainment from eating. In a physiological context, abstinence might talk over with the metabolic status of someone who has not eaten overnight, or to the metabolic state achieved once complete digestion and absorption of a meal. many metabolic changes occur throughout fasting.
